The Theater im Zimmer in the Harvestehude District Is a Contemporary Venue With a Hanseatic Tradition.
In 1948, the Theater im Zimmer was founded by actor Helmuth Gmelin as the “Zimmerbühne” with a performance of Friedrich Hebbel’s Maria Magdalena. Due to the limited space available, the theater moved to the Stadtvilla on Alsterchaussee a short time later. It was built in 1829 by Christian Diederich Gerhard Schwieger and acquired and occupied by the captain and shipowner Victor von Graefe from the middle of the 19th century.
The bright building with its spacious garden is the ideal place for corporate events, product presentations, press conferences, company celebrations as well as private parties at any time of the year. Any event can also be enriched with the option of an accompanying cultural program by the artists of the Theater im Zimmer. The location has modern event technology, such as a 95-inch 4K 3D monitor with a screen size of 2.4 m, a JBL music system, a projector including a screen, microphones, spotlights, WLAN and air conditioning.
